BRANDO’S Pizzeria Cafe has been voted the 2010 best pizzeria in WA as part of a national competition.
Brando’s owner Brad Radica, who took over from his father Richard two years ago, was told the news when the award was announced last month.
The National Best Pizzeria Competition involved stores registering online and customers voting between November and December.
Coming out on top in the State has earner Brando’s $500 cash, a mention in the Pizza industry’s PMQ magazine February edition, a mention in the February Alpha magazine in a full page advertisement, a one-year free membership with Pizza Local and a review on its website, 1000 free pizza boxes and store signage.
The Victoria Park eatery was established in 1993 and Mr Radica said he believed one of the key to Brando’s success was listening to their customers.
“We have taken their feedback since I took over and introduced many of their suggestions, from new pizza ideas to new music selections,” Mr Radica said.
“Some of our customers have been coming here 17 years and it’s always nice to hear what the regulars and new customers like and don’t like.”
Mr Radica said he spent the first six months after he took over renovating and revitalising the menu.
“It’s great for me and the team to be recognised and rewarded with this award,” Mr Radica said.
Mr Radica said he also thought the introduced a regularly changing chef specials menu helped people vote for their win because it made the pizzeria cafe more interesting.
