OPENING the first Lollypotz outlet in Perth has provided Floreat mum Tania Western with “a very tempting” career shift for a bunch of reasons.
Since late last year, the franchise business has delivered chocolate bouquets and boxes of brightly wrapped chocolates to the public and corporate clients as an alternative to sending flowers.
Classic Potz boxes with Ferrero Rochero chocolates starting at $39 and Liquor Potz tubs with a mix of champagne and chocolates up to $149 have proved popular.
“Putting them (bouquets) together is sort of like a big craft class, and it’s been very rewarding as we’ve had very, very positive feedback – people just say, what a great idea,” Mrs Western said.
The mum of three and her husband John moved from Dunsborough after wrapping up a timber flooring business to become the Lollypotz master franchisor in WA with friends Craig Harris and Rachel Arthur.
“It’s picking up in the way of orders, and around those big gift times of the year like Christmas and Valentine’s Day, it’s just manic,” Mrs Western said.
As the master franchisor base, the store at the corner of Bulwer and Lake streets caters for a curious public, as well as providing stock and support to fellow WA outlets.
“We’ve encouraged franchisees to have a shop (premises) within 12 months as it’s such a visual product…when you see it in person, it has that wow factor,” she said.
While running the Perth store and making personal deliveries of tasty bouquets continues to keep the two couples busy, what about the allure of all those chocolates in easy reach?
“It is very tempting with the chocolates around the place, but it’s lucky that they are small, so you can have one,” Mrs Western said.
