ROCKINGHAM’S Crosbie family is enjoying well-deserved success, but in very different fields.
Latasha (known as Chibbi) is in the top 25 of the Face of Razzamatazz modelling competition, while parents Suzanne and Tyler’s business My Reflections Photobooks is in the final six of the Telstra business innovation award.
“It’s just so wonderful that these things are happening at the same time,” Suzanne said.
“It’s a very exciting time in our house.”
My Reflections was the 2009 Rockingham-Kwinana Chamber of Commerce business of the year, and Suzanne said it was an honour for their business to be in the Telstra business awards.
“Whether we win or lose at least we know that we’re competitive,” she said. “The Telstra judges are very thorough and we know we’ve done everything possible.”
She is excited about the awards, but is especially delighted by her daughter’s success after she endured years of teasing and bullying at school.
“I was teased a lot at school because I had freckles, crooked teeth and frizzy hair,” Chibbi said.
“Mum always told me I was beautiful, but it wasn’t until now that I can leave that teasing behind. I have a lot more confidence.”
Suzanne is urging the community to get behind her daughter and vote for her in the awards. “She is a fun-loving girl with a great personality. We would appreciate it if people would get behind her and vote for her.
“Being teased at school doesn’t always mean you will grow up ugly.”
