GOODWILL Engineering, Malaga, is the overall winner of the 2011 Malaga and Districts Business Association (MDBA) business awards.
Earlier this month Mayor Charlie Zannino presented Goodwill with the award. The organisation also won the youth employment and training award and environmentally friendly award.
General manager Phil Pitchers said winning the overall award was an important achievement.
“It recognises the work we do to provide support and jobs for people with disabilities. We also help students with special needs to find career pathways through our work-experience programs,” he said.
Other category winners included:
- Perth Window and Door Replacement Company for best manufacturing.
- DCN Solutions received the best professional services award.
- Best retail went to VIP Pool Care.
- Native Animal Rescue, sponsored by the Eastern Reporter, received the community services award.
- Bullet Signs and Print was the best business under 20 employees.
- Atama Furniture won best business over 20 employees.
- MDBA recognised Phill Roberts from Stirling Skills Training Centre as employee of the year.
