REPRESENTATIVES from Lake Joondalup Baptist College and the Curriculum Council will meet in the next few weeks to determine how incorrect TEE results were sent to students.
The TEE scores originally sent to 110 Lake Joondalup students included only their semester one results, instead of a combination of their semester one and two results.
Lake Joondalup principal Barbara Wadley said she understood how stressful and upsetting this had been for students and parents.
“The college became aware of the error early in November and went to great lengths to inform the Curriculum Council of the error, and we were led to believe that the problem had been rectified,” she said.
“The fact that the Curriculum Council continued to use incorrect data was beyond the control of the college, as the Curriculum Council processes these results, not the college.“
Curriculum Council chief executive David Wood said the council sent hard copies of results to schools for checking in late November.
“Schools were required to make any changes necessary and re-upload the corrected data,” he said.
“If a school seeks confirmation, the Curriculum Council can confirm that data appears to be in place but only the school can verify that it is the correct data.”
Tertiary Institutions Service Centre chief executive Steve Hoath said the updated TER results were now available and that most students’ scores changed less than one TER point.
These students now have until January 14 to change their university preferences.
