Good meet for club

LOCAL swimmers performed well in the 2010 State Open Championships from January 27 to 30, despite returning home without a medal.

Swan Hills Swimming Club entered two swimmers in the highly competitive meet at Challenge Stadium.

Ashlinne Zoranich (17) placed 12th in the open women’s 50m butterfly final with a time of 31.08, after reaching 30.71 in the preliminaries.

The Middle Swan resident also came 12th in the 50m breaststroke heats with 37.95, missing out on the final.

Head coach Chris Twomey (31) competed in one event, the open men’s 50m breaststroke.

The Guildford resident came 11th out of a strong field of 18 with a time of 33.34, narrowly missing the final.
